Helpful Hearts Home Care was founded by Lakesha Gwin and Latisha Thomas, two compassionate professionals united by both personal experiences and decades of healthcare expertise. 

Lakesha's journey into healthcare began over 20 years ago, when a neighbor and dear friend, Patty, needed support but wished to remain in the comfort of her own home. Lakesha stepped in-assisting with daily tasks, ensuring her safety, and most importantly, providing companionship so that she never felt alone.  Caring for Patty opened Lakesha's eyes to the importance of allowing individuals to remain in a place they love while receiving compassionate, dependable care. That experience became the foundation of her passion for home care and continues to guide her work today. 

Latisha has been in healthcare for over 25 years, but her passion for caring began as a young girl when she watched her aunt lovingly care for her grandfather, a veteran living with post -traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was during those early years that she made a promise to herself to always care for family and others. In 2017, that promise became deeply personal when she made the selfless decision to relocate her family to care for her aging, wheelchair-bound father during the final years of his life. Through this experience, she gained not only strength and resilience, but also a profound understanding of the emotional and physical challenges many families face when caring for a loved one.
